Inspiration Thursday's challenge for this week is an open challenge. My entry for this week is "Seasons", melted crayon on paper. I did this technique for Illustration Friday a couple of weeks ago and I love this. So I did more.
ooo, i really like this. this technique looks like it would translate into stitch really well. did you "place the crayon shavings then melt with something?
Actually you just peel off the paper of the crayon and melt the it over a candle and apply to the paper. It takes some getting used to so you won't drip where you don't want the wax. I usually rotate the crayon over the flame until it warms up, but before it gets drippy, then quickly apply to paper. It dries rather quick so you have to heat and reheat a lot. I've also seen a technique where you apply your paper to a warming plate for a different effect. That would be fun to try as well.
